Curently the trail is used mostly as a recreational space, biking, hiking, horseback riding, and commuting.

But the trail can be much more. How could we introduce non-intrusive cultural expressions and art objects or art events into the mix? How about augmented reality and other digital art experiments? Virtual sculptures? Story telling audio on your phone, gps triggered? History lessons? Environmental education? Volunteer remedial ecological programs?  Pop-up theatre? Games and geocaching? It is the nature of possibilities waiting for our care, responsibility and imagination.

We are an art and ecology project that seeks to bring together art, nature, and community by using the Galloping Goose Trail as our canvas.

The Galloping Goose Cultural Corridor Project originates from Sooke.

We would like to acknowledge the traditional territories of the Coast
Salish, specifically T’Sou-ke Nation, the Beecher Bay, Scia’new
Nation, and Nuu-chah-nulth Pacheedaht Nation to the west.

We thank them for sharing this beautiful land.
